Pennsylvania Paperless Employer Tax

The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue is preparing for the elimination of the paper coupon system for filing employer withholding tax returns in 2006. You may have been notified by Pennsylvania that you will not receive paper coupons in 2006.

This leaves you two options for filing your employer withholding returns:

Telefile

Telefile is the Department's telephone filing system. There is no registration required for telefiling. You call Telefile at 1-800-748-8299 with the following information in front of you:

• Your 8 digit PA Employer Account Number
• Your 9 digit Employer Identification Number (EIN). If you do not require an EIN, you will use your social security number.
• The ending date of the period.
• The bank routing number and account number for the account you will have the withholding taken from.

Internet

It is fairly easy to register to make your withholding payments online through http://www.etides.state.pa.us.

You register your business using the same information as above and choosing a username and password. Please choose a username and password that you won't easily forget.
